Emergencies in Japan

In case of emergencies, there are mainly two numbers to call.

  1. 119 for fire or medical treatment
  2. 110 for other affairs

You can call these numbers for free. And, you can use the public telephone on the street to call these numbers.

Some emergencies could happen although you are careful.
If you lose your wallet or phone, you surely be upset.

However, it is very likely that they come back to you.
Because Japanese people are very high in morality, they usually pick others’ belongings and deliver them to the police banks.
Indeed, when I lose something important, I will find it in the police bank.

However, the problem is that receiver cannot speak English fluently most times.
If you cannot speak in Japanese, you can talk to someone around you with gestures and ask he or she to tell receivers what your situation is.
